San Juan GT Race - Champion Racing teams up with local sponsor for Grand Prix of Puerto Rico Speed World Challenge GT race

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (October 24, 2003) – The Florida-based Champion Racing Audi RS 6 team is pleased to announce its partnership this weekend with the well-known and highly respected Audi automobile dealership of Gomez Hermanos Kennedy, Inc. of San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Since 1949, the Gomez Family name has represented part of what is considered automobile history in Puerto Rico. This fourth generation dealership represents the finest in automobile brands for the island’s clientele including Audi, Porsche, Ferrari, Maserati, Land Rover, Rolls Royce and Bentley.

The backbone of the dealership for the past fifty years has been owner and operator Mr. Victor M. Gomez, Jr. Throughout his reign, Mr. Gomez successfully managed this multi-million dollar automobile empire and his efforts and talents place him and his dealership as one of the foremost examples of the Puerto Rican automobile industry.

The current President of Gomez Hermanos Kennedy, Inc. is Mr. Gomez’s son, Victor M. Gomez lll.Victor’s experience of almost a decade in sales and dealer networking is well respected and recently he was chosen as one of the “Emerging Leaders” by Caribbean Business.

This weekend’s race festivities kicked off with an “Audi Stars and Cars” party hosted by Gomez Hermanos Kennedy, Inc. at El Horreo de V. Suarez, a local wine distributor. On display were both Audi RS 6 Competition Cars, the all new Audi A8 L, Audi RS 6 and Audi S4. Customers of Gomez Hermanos Kennedy, Inc. met Champion Racing drivers Randy Pobst and Michael Galati as well as the entire Champion Audi RS 6 team.

Track activity on the 1.6-mile temporary circuit began today with two practice sessions. Both Audi’s took quite well to the track and ended up 2nd and 3rd in the afternoon session. Qualifying is Saturday afternoon and the green flag is thrown on Sunday at 10:45 a.m. (AST).
