Champion Racing held a shakedown for our pair of
Speedvision
World Challenge GT-class Audi S4 Competitions Tuesday at Moroso
Motorsports
Park. Series points leader Michael Galati was on hand to drive both team
cars,
as the crew evaluated recent improvements made during the several weeks
since
the previous race in Detroit. Galati and Team Leader Louis Milone
pronounced
the pair of red and silver rockets ready for the upcoming points battle.
The Sears race, scheduled for 22 July, restarts the ALMS series calendar
after
the Le Mans break and marks the mid-point in the Speedvision series
calendar.
The Speedvision World Challenge will support five of the next seven ALMS
rounds,
culminating with the season-ender for both series at Lowe's Motor
Speedway in
Charlotte, NC on 21 October.
After a fourth-place finish at Detroit (where Peter Cunningham's Acura
won),
Galati's large points lead has shrunk again to just 11 points as the
season-long
battle with RealTime Racing continues at Sears Point. With five races
run and
five remaining to decide the title, there's sure to be plenty of
exciting racing
ahead for World Challenge GT fans. |
