ADT/Champion Racing - Petit Le Mans Testing

15 Oct - Team ADT Champion Racing’s JJ Lehto set the second fastest time in today’s test session at Road Atlanta. The Finn stopped the clock at 1min 12.520secs in the 90-minute session staged in warm afternoon sunshine.

Lehto lapped the 2.54-mile Georgia track at an average speed of 126.089mph - just 0.062secs slower than the fastest time set by the Lola-MG of James Weaver/Butch Leitzinger/Andy Wallace.

The Infineon Joest Audi R8 of Frank Biela/Marco Werner set the fourth fastest time (1:13.218secs).

For comparison, Lehto set a 1:13.826 for third place on the grid for the race at Road Atlanta in June in the second practice session. In the June race, grid positions were controversially decided by the fastest time set by each car in any session today after officials cancelled the qualifying session due to heavy rain - which later cleared for the final practice.
