LEXINGTON, Ohio (June 29, 2002) – Fighting persistent
understeer,
American Le Mans Series LMP-900 championship leaders ADT/Champion Audi
qualified
fourth for Sunday's 2hr 45min race at Mid-Ohio Sportscar Course.
Two practice sessions, the second interrupted by three black flags, were
held
on Saturday morning, with qualifying held at mid-afternoon. The weather
has been
sunny and hot, with race day likely to be even hotter. With rain and
clouds during
the first two days of race week followed by progressively warmer days,
the changable
conditions have contributed to difficulties in achieving optimum setup
for the
twisting 2.258-mile roadcourse.
Sunday's race gets underway at 2pm EST, and will be televised live on
SPEED Channel.
