August, 2004 -
Following the recent back-to-back races
at Sears Point and Portland, the Audi Stars and Cars tour moved on to
Denver, Colorado. There, the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Audi Club
of North America (headed by Dean Esmail, pictured right) and Prestige Imports (Don Adis, Owner,
pictured left) combined to put on two excellent
Audi events. Tuesday, 27 July, Randy Pobst and Michael Galati were on
hand to do driving duty at local Second Creek Raceway. Both drove over
350 miles of laps at Second Creek, piloting various machines -
including a bright orange Pike's Peak "UR-A4" 5cyl/20valve Audi
racecar -
giving rides to enthusiastic club members to benefit the creation of a
new local race track. That evening, ADT/Champion Audi R8 drivers Marco
Werner and JJ Lehto joined with Pobst and Galati for a well-received
Audi Stars and Cars event at Prestige Imports, which included a silent
auction, also for the benefit of new track construction). Photos from both events
follow.
