LAKEVILLE,
Ct. (May 26, 2004) - The Audi Certified Champion RS 6 Team will
make its second appearance of the season this weekend when teammates
Randy Pobst and Michael Galati pilot a pair of Audi RS 6 "Competition"
cars this weekend at Lime Rock Park as part of the Road Racing
Classing featuring the Mohegan Sun Grand Prix.
The SPEED World Challenge GT series will anchor
the Mohegan Sun Grand Prix portion of the weekend continuing a
Memorial Day tradition that stretches back more than 30 years.
The
1.53 mile track situated on 325 acres winds through the beautiful
countryside in Northwestern Connecticut, perfect quattro country for
the Audi RS 6.
Champion Racing (Pompano Beach, FL) has been
working consistently on the cars since the first race in mid March.
Michael Galati will endeavor to continue with a podium finish as he
did at Sebring while Randy Pobst hopes to have better luck with his #1
Audi RS 6.
Randy
Pobst (Gainesville, GA). "The competition has had some rule
adjustments applied after the Sebring race so I am anxious to get back
in the Certified Audi and see how we do. I expect the racing to be
better but we won't know until the lights go out on the standing start
at Lime Rock. New England is quattro country so it's great to be up
here this weekend. I need to make a big comeback from Sebring so I
hope it rains!"
Michael Galati (Olmstead, OH). "I feel pretty
good about this weekend. This is a good track for the RS 6, even
better if it rains! I'm excited to be back racing after the long 2
month break. I want to continue my podium finishes."
The
SCCA SPEED World Challenge season will make its second standing start
of 2004 at Lime Rock Park on Monday, May 31st at 12:10 p.m. EDT.
