BOWMANVILLE, Ontario, Canada. (August 6,
2004) -
The Audi Certified Champion RS 6 Team will
perform "double duty" this weekend on Mosport International Raceway's
2.359-mile circuit. The SPEED World Challenge GT series will feature
Round Six and Round Seven as part of the Grand Prix of Mosport.
Competition will be intense as the General Motors'
Cadillac CTS-V
racing team will field a third car for this weekend's double header at
Mosport on August 7th and 8th. Ron Fellows, Corvette C5-R driver, will
pilot the #12 CTS-V race car in both events, joining Team Cadillac
regulars Max Angelelli and Andy Pilgrim.
With Audi leading the Manufacturer's Championship
by only five
points, the dazzling duo of Randy Pobst (Gainesville, GA) and Michael
Galati (Olmstead, OH) will need to maximize their 4.2 liter, V8,
bi-turbo Audi RS 6 "Competition" cars. With over 300 pounds added to
each car, weight will be a defining factor steering through the 10
corners and especially on the backstretch known as the Mario Andretti
Straightaway.
The SCCA SPEED World Challenge GT races at Mosport International
Raceway, Rounds Six and Seven of the 2004 Championship, are scheduled
for Saturday, August 7, at 11:00 a.m. (EDT) and Sunday, August 8, at
4:05 p.m. (EDT). The races will be broadcast one week later, Sunday,
August 15, on SPEED Channel at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 pm (EDT).
